MAREK WOLFRYD (b. 1989, Mexico City) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice operates at the intersection of artistic and economic narratives. By exploring themes of mass production, consumer culture, and intellectual property, Wolfryd questions the mechanisms of art creation and distribution in a globalized world. His work often utilizes the concept of shanzhai (counterfeiting and appropriation) to examine how images and objects circulate between the East and the West. Wolfryd graduated from ENPEG “La Esmeralda” and SOMA in Mexico City, and his work has been exhibited internationally in New York, London, Tokyo, and Los Angeles.
