MOSS STUDIO is a collaborative endeavour led by interior architect and woodturner Mario Vanwynsberghe and his wife, herbalist Veerle Knockaert.

It’s a profound connection to nature, drawing inspiration from Mario and Veerle’s backgrounds and the bond they share with their garden. While Mario finds comfort in repurposing wood obtained from fallen or unwanted trees and exploring the thin line between opposing forces in the wood and his chisel; Veerle, on the other hand, researches how to infuse each creation with natural, homemade stains and beeswaxes. Through this collaborative process, Moss Studio celebrates the richness of nature and promotes a commitment to sustainable practices, biodiversity, and creating harmonious living spaces.

Guided by nature’s silent dialogue, Moss Studio aims to capture its essence in their creations. Their sculptures eschew ostentation and embrace the innate qualities of the woods they use, honouring the unrefined beauty of organic forms and flaws that emerge from the materials themselves.
