UMBERTO BELLARDI RICI is a German-Italian architect, sculptor, and designer based in New York. After teaching at the Architectural Association in London and Cornell University in New York, and collaborating with Mexican collective Tezontle on cast concrete works in the sculpture garden Las Pozas, he established his Brooklyn Navy Yard studio in 2019.

His inaugural furniture collection, Dawn, debuted at Matter gallery in July 2021. The show explored the intersection of sculpture and design, combining industrial materials like steel and aluminium with refined elements such as stone, glass, and textiles.

While a New York Times feature highlighted his studio’s dialogue with the Manhattan skyline, the architectural vocabulary of the city has become increasingly embedded in his work. The studio is currently engaged in projects across New York, London, Paris, and Milan, including a new solo show of sculptural furniture and light pieces, alongside interior commissions with custom lighting, furniture, and objects.
