Apparatus Studio
Signal X Floor Lamp
The Signal X Floor Lamp by APPARATUS STUDIO reverberates light through the concentric circles of its pressed glass diffuser, informed by the fresnel lens. Recalling the architecture of satellites, the series is punctuated by rhythms of code articulated in the dots and antennae that delicately encircle its brass body. The fixtures create soft gradients of light, like the silent communication of a satellite emitting waves across the ether.
Handmade in NYC, the SIGNAL SERIES is available in multiple finishes and configurations. This fixture is made to order as per your specifications. For inquiries and customizations, please contact us.

READ MOREAPPARATUS STUDIO, led by Artistic Director Gabriel Hendifar, is a New York-based design studio that takes a narrative-driven approach to explore the relationship between lighting, furniture, and objects in immersive environments. The studio’s creative output is divided into Forewords, which define foundational design principles, and Acts, which use these principles to explore historical reference, narrative, and emotion.
The SIGNAL SERIES belongs to ACT IV, which celebrates the playful optimism of human intervention in material objects. The collection evokes wonder with 1960s cultural and scientific innovations. ACT IV negotiates the delicate balance between machine perfection and the human hand, revolving around a highly touched object and the nearly imperceptible hand that creates it. The collection is a complete view of a joyful time in creation and mechanisation.
ACT IV is presented in a series of scenes imagined as dioramas of public and private life, titled The Brief, The Muse, The Work, and The Finish. The structure of the scenes evokes the arc of the studio’s creative process. In an era of digital rendering, the presentation celebrates the human hand, traditional production craft, and the art of making images.
