ii. One-of-a-kind products — Many of our products are handcrafted, given their handmade nature variations are to be expected and celebrated. Each item is unique and no two are exactly alike. Images on our websites and items shown in our gallery may vary from your actual piece.

Depending on the item/s, orders are processed as:
i. Direct online purchases — applicable to add-to-cart goods that can be ordered and processed at checkout; or
ii. Inquiry purchases — applicable to items that due to their unique features, customizations and/or shipping intricacies, can only be ordered via email or our inquiry form. Items made-to-order require a 50% non-refundable deposit to start production and 50% prior to shipment.
Full payment is required before delivery. We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as bank transfers. Depending on the payment method, additional costs and terms may apply.
To ensure accurate shipping estimates, delivery cost calculations are dependent on the order method:
i. Direct online purchases — This pertains to add-to-cart goods. Delivery options and costs are determined at checkout according to package size and delivery address. If you encounter shipping limitations at checkout, please feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to arrange shipping.
ii. Inquiry purchases — This category is relevant to inquiries/orders for larger, delicate, and made-to-order items. Due to the unique nature of these purchases, we provide personalized shipping quotes. Delivery costs depend on specifications, origin, destination, preferred method (road, sea, air freight), and service level (standard, express, white glove, or customer’s own carrier).
i. Returns & Exchanges — If you're unsatisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 14 days of receiving it for returns or exchanges. Made-to-order items are non-returnable and non-exchangeable unless defective or damaged. Refunds, credits, or exchanges will be processed after inspection. Delivery and return fees are non-refundable, except for manufacturer defects or transit damage.
ii. Cancellations — Depending on the item, order changes or cancellations may be possible; please reach out for details.
iii. Defective or Damaged Items — Our shipments are insured. Claims for freight damage must be noted on-site, documented, and filed within 72 hours of arrival.

Mother’s Love – Bell Rocking Chair
“Mother’s Love” Bell Rocking Chair by EMILY THURMAN.
Designed by Emily Thurman and fabricated by Sam Dwyer, the Mother’s Love Rocking Chair draws from a cherished family heirloom: a steam-bent wood chair with a woven horsehair seat from Thurman’s grandmother’s home. Carrying forward the heirloom’s essential cues, Thurman reinterprets them through a continuous bent-laminated walnut structure shaped and refined with Dwyer to establish a measured, rhythmic rock.
Suspended along the frame is a constellation of bells: original hand-cast bronze bells by Thurman alongside antique examples sourced from Japan, India, and Tibet. Linked by hand-formed silver chains crafted by Paris-based jeweler Zoé Mohm, the bells register even the slightest movement with restrained tonal shifts. The chair becomes both seat and instrument, inviting a form of interaction in which play itself sustains memory. The piece is finished with woven horsehair upholstery by John Boyd (UK). This piece is handmade to order.

Her work combines intuition, material-led exploration, and collaboration with international fabricators and artisans to create pieces that fuse technical mastery with personal narrative. Thurman’s furniture and lighting, including her inaugural Hundō pieces and the “Mother’s Love” Bell Rocking Chair, explore sound, memory, and play, integrating bronze, wood, and glass into sculptural, interactive forms. Her designs often incorporate found and hand-cast elements—such as bells collected globally or crafted in lost-wax bronze—blurring the line between heirloom reverence and playful engagement.
